Diego Kröger


Como pintor frecuenta una temática de paisajes asociados al ámbito marino, y en el caso de esta muestra individual opta por distanciar los datos concretos (un faro, algunas casas, la línea de la costa) para extender sobre un primer plano la vasta superficie de un arenal que puede transformarse en una mancha acuática, donde vuelca su oficio en un juego más libre, bordeando el informalismo. E ...sos ejercicios se codean con algunos desnudos, que son la otra vertiente de sus temas habituales, y comparten la sala con algunas piezas escultóricas donde estiliza las siluetas de animales o barcos, deteniéndose en los huecos que practica para agregar allí menudas formas que incorporan una suerte de anécdota a la pieza y que amenizan su superficie, aportándole un interés adicional. Tienen particular calidez las obras en hierro fundido, donde también elige el perfil de naves, en este caso resueltas con un aire ligeramente humorístico y con visible dominio de la técnica sobre metal. El desempeño de Kröger en el área pictórica y en sus formas espaciales, denota los largos años en que ha ido depurando su lenguaje, que le permite figurar en las exposiciones permanentes de otros trabajos que pueden verse en galerías de José Ignacio (Los Caracoles) y Punta del Este (Museo Ralli)

As a painter he frequents a theme of landscapes associated with the marine environment, and in the case of this individual exhibition he chooses to distance the specific data (a lighthouse, some houses, the coastline) to extend the vast surface of a foreground sandy area that can be transformed into an aquatic spot, where he turns his craft into a freer game, bordering on informalism. The cast iron works have particular warmth, where he also chooses the profile of the naves, in this case resolved with a slightly humorous air and with visible mastery of the metal technique.
